It is easy to view Good Friday as just a day off from work, or for most a day away from your job to get work done. I spent the day trying catch up on the rest I have been missing from too many long days in a row, but I just couldn't sit still long enough. My go to when this happens is to look back through images I passed by for one reason or another. I rediscovered this image last week where the sunlight is streaming through the clouds and highlighting the New River. I hate naming my photos so I just declared it Heaven on the New and moved on. I look at it again today and I am reminded of the peace I find in scenes like this. This is the peace we should all fill our hearts with and remember why the office may be closed today. Remember the sacrifice that was made for all of us.
"Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee." – Isaiah 60:1-2
