This weekend I traveled to Helvetia, WV to join in on the celebration of Fasnacht. I honestly spent more time enjoying the festivities than I spent capturing them. The celebration is all about burning old man winter an effigy, and I am totally down with that. There is a rich history to this small Swiss town tucked away in West Virginia. The image for the week is from the Helvetia Museum, showcasing an older time. A nice New York Times article about the festivities can be found here if you look closely I can be spotted in the last image looking across the bonfire.
